Dr. McElroy joined SVHC in 2019 after practicing in York, ME, since 2011. She received her MD from the University of Massachusetts Medical School where she was chosen as an Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society member. She was attracted to Family Medicine because of the breadth of the field, the opportunity to have longitudinal relationships with patients, and the chance to perform office procedures.
She completed her residency in Family Medicine at the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency in Lawrence, MA, where she worked with a largely Spanish-speaking immigrant population at a federally qualified health center. She is pleased to return to this inclusive model of care and social services at SVHC.
Dr. McElroy’s clinical interests include women’s health, office gynecology procedures, chronic disease management and prevention, and pediatrics. She enjoys taking care of the entire family. She has proudly cared for four generations of several families, including having all of them in the room once while she delivered the newest family member!
Prior to medical school, Dr. McElroy received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master of Arts degree from Wesleyan University. She taught elementary and middle school music in Massachusetts public schools.
Outside of work, Dr. McElroy appreciates spending time with her husband and three active boys. She can be found writing and performing music, riding dressage, cooking vegan meals, crafting, and caring for a menagerie of animals.
