of Clinical Support and Allied Health Services, Marty coordinates the
social needs of SVHC patients and clients, connecting them with
services and programs they need outside the Health Center.

Family Planning Counselor
Family Planning
Services are provided by
clinician and Family Planning Counselor Jamie
Gleason. Physical exams, birth
control, pregnancy tests, treatment for common infections, and family
planning counseling are offered in a confidential non-judgmental
setting in collaboration with Tri-County Health Services.

Donna Burke, R.N., M.S.
Health Education
Consultant
As the
Health
Center’s Health Education
Consultant, Donna provides stress management counseling, diabetes
education and smoking cessation counseling. Services are provided to
both groups and individuals. Donna oversees the Maine Breast and
Cervical Health Program at the Health Center. Donna is also
actively involved in the work of the local Healthy Communities
Coalition. She has a
Master’s degree in Adult and Continuing Education from the University
of Southern Maine. Donna has worked at the Health Center since 1987.
Nutrition
Counseling Services
Barbara Smith, M.S., R.D., L.D., C.D.E.
Registered Dietitian
Barbara
Smith
is a Registered Dietitian specializing in diabetes care. She also sees
patients with other nutrition concerns such as high cholesterol and
weight gain or loss. Barbara receives referrals from medical
providers for individual nutrition education and counseling. Nutrition
counseling services are by appointment.
Podiatry
Alan Goldenhar, D.P.M.
Dr.
Goldenhar
practices at SVHC on the second Thursday of each month, providing a
full range of outpatient podiatry services. He also has a private
practice in Podiatry in North Conway, New Hampshire. A graduate of
Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Goldenhar has been
practicing at the Health Center since 1990.
Richard Steinmetz, D.P.M.
Dr.
Steinmetz
sees podiatry patients on the third Friday of each month, providing a
full range of outpatient podiatry services. He also has a private
podiatry practice in Westbrook, Maine. Dr. Steinmetz is a graduate of
Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine. He has been practicing at
the Health Center since 1983.
Prepared Childbirth Instruction
Rebecca Hatch, R.N.
Becky is a
Registered Nurse who provides Prepared Childbirth Education classes for
expectant parents as part of the Health Center’s Prenatal Program. The
Health Center offers the classes four times a year.
Optometry
John A. DuBois, O.D.
Dr.
DuBois was
born and raised in Maine. He did his undergraduate studies at the
University of Maine. During his optometric education he trained
at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA. He also did training
rotations at the VA Medical Center in Manchester, NH and The Eye Care
Center of New Jersey in Bloomfield, NJ. He graduated from the
Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1999.
Dr. DuBois
is a
member of the American Optometric Association and the Maine Optometric
Association. He joined the SVHC staff in 2005. He lives in
Cornish. Some of his recreational interests include fishing,
swimming, reading, and buying and selling items on eBay. Dr.
DuBois sees patients on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Donna is the
Health Center’s Optometric Assistant. She can answer your questions
about SVHC Optometry Services. She is here on Mondays and
Wednesdays.

The
Patient
Assistance Program helps income eligible patients obtain a limited
number of chronic medications at discounted rates. Jamie Gleason, the
SVHC Social Services Coordinator, administers this program. To
participate in this program, a written referral by your SVHC provider
and Sliding Fee Program eligibility are required.
MaineCare Enrollment
Assistance
The Health
Center accepts Medicaid from both Maine and New Hampshire.
Medicaid is now called MaineCare in the State of Maine. In recent
years, eligibility has expanded to include many more people. We
can help you determine if you and your family members are eligible to
receive coverage under MaineCare. We will also help you fill out
the application and submit it to the MaineCare Program.
SLIDING
FEE
PROGRAM
The Health
Center is able to provide sliding fees to patients who are eligible for
our Sliding Fee Program. Discounts are based on income and family
size. Bills are reduced after all other sources of payment have
been applied. If you feel that you may be eligible for a
discount, please fill out an application form and submit it to
us. You may use a paper copy of the form that you’ll find in the
waiting room, in exam rooms or you can obtain a form from any member of
our staff. You
